Paolo TRINGALI
Is an Italian architect, researcher and educator based in Madrid and has acquired a multicultural approach to problem solving, living and working abroad (O Porto, New York, Cairo, Barcelona).
He has been co-chair of international workshops in Cairo, Rome and Sassari; was visiting researcher in Cairo University and New York University and teaching assistant for Department of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning of Alghero University.
In 2012 has gained his PhD with an original investigation entitled "AfterUse. Strategies to (re)use and adaptation in the ‘Global Crisis’ age". This work, focused on re-use as design strategy in architecture, investigate a field of experimentation combining realism and innovation, relationship with the past and ecological strain. Finally suggesting a new management to get new life from waste.
From 2011 he collaborates as project architect with the international firm selgascano in Madrid, working closely with the partners on a wide range of projects.
Emiliano BUGATTI
Architect, he is assistant professor at the Department of Architecture of the Yeditepe University since 2012. He collaborated from 2000 to 2005 with Maurice Cerasi at the University of Genova in academic research on the analysis and rehabilitation of some historical cities in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Results were published in “The Istanbul Divanyolu--a Case Study in Ottoman Urbanity and Architecture”, “La città dalle molte culture”, and “Multicultural Urban Fabric and Types in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean”. He finished his PhD in 2009 at the University of Genova. In the last ten years, he has collaborated with architects and offices based in Genova, Milano, and Istanbul working on renovation projects and architectural design competitions. In 2010, with Teğet Mimarlık won the Izmir Opera house competition and in 2011 mentioned for the rehabilitation project of the Lalla place in the Medina of Fez, Morocco.
